Future in right direction? or not?

When it comes to deciding your future, what do you think about? I know I am having to think a lot. I recently was struggling on what I want to do with my life. Of course I am young but I am running out of time.  I keep saying to myself I am going to college but I am going to put it off for a year. I do not know really what I want to do.  I know I want to help people and I want to be in some type of medical field.  I feel like if I want to do this I should have put more effort earlier.  I remember listening to my parents saying you got to work harder so you can reach your goals. Of course what I did was ignored and slacked off.  I wish I never did, or better yet I kind of wish I could go back.  I keep saying I am ready to graduate and to move on with my life but to do what work in a minimum wage job?  I have been avoiding one thing, that could probably help me, but is it right for me or not.  I am thinking and almost sure I will be joining the Navy, because they pay for my education and living arrangements and I will actually will be doing something with my life instead of sitting around waiting for something to happen.  I am scared because what if I realize it’s not for me when I am already joined and enlisted. If I do not go into the Navy, I am afraid years later I will regret it and not know what I would do.  Everyone needs to have some sort of future no matter who you are female or male, everyone deserves to be able to live and enjoy life. Maybe trying to serve my country or doing things to help other people will help me down the road.  I am going to college but I do not know exactly what for or what I will be doing. Soon I will make my final decision and start my future.  I am going to be doing it for the right reasons and not for the wrong.

I guess what I really am trying to say is I made some mistakes in my past and i learned from them .
